My Story

My journey in the media world began back in 1995 as a production assistant on the East Coast. By 1999, I had moved to Oakland California where I earned my degree in 3D animation, which led to a career as a producer for a video game company, where I created commercials, motion graphics and edited video.
Eventually, I transitioned into freelancing, but I found the isolation of working alone behind a computer difficult.

I truly missed being around people. I realized I wanted to take a break from the screen and give my time to something that helped others, where human connection, rather than just the bottom line, was the driving force.
That desire led me to a school for children on the spectrum, where I spent nine years as a counselor. Two years into my time there, the creative pull returned. I asked the Principal if I could take the school pictures, and he gave me a shot. That single 'Picture Day' was the spark that evolved into the full-time school photography business I’ve proudly run since 2013."
I focus on working with smaller traditional schools, nonprofit organizations, and special education schools. What distinguishes me from other photographers is my extensive experience teaching children, providing me with the patience and skill needed to work effectively with students of all abilities.
